The Unfolding Lotus Tarot Spread is a straightforward card spread used for navigating existing timelines that hold great meaning for fulfilling personal achievements. The layout is used for measuring progress on an existing timeline, and is not directly used to foretell a specific date that an event will occur.
The Unfolding Lotus 8-Card Tarot Oracle Spread is a magickal layout used to share what energies will be revealed along the path of a timeline to get a clear look at where progress may or may not be ready to unfold with ease.
This tarot spread works well for general insight or for specific areas related to work, relationships, finance and spiritual matters. It can be read with a Tarot deck and many oracle decks with beautiful results.

Instructions: Reversals are okay to use with this spread. The tarot spread uses three cards from the deck as significators.
Because this tarot spread and the reading are related to navigating timelines, the matter or goal you are reading for should be attainable, within reason, in the amount of time that was proposed. This spread will show what to look for to measure progress on the path and what to expect using your current approach to get there. Results can show both sides of the process of getting there; the positives and the tougher challenges.
The best approach for an accurate reading is to be as literal with details and specifics in the significator phase (step 1) of the card draw as possible. During the shuffle your focus should be on a connection to the Akashic Library; the ethereal compendium of all knowledge and history. It is important to keep the time frame in mind for your matter or topic. Be open to what the cards reveal.
Step 1. (The Significators) Remove 3 cards from the deck. These cards are designated as significators. They represent a picture (or vision board) of the desired result assumed or expected to happen within the time frame of the topic being read. Choose cards that most closely represent the goal, either by what is depicted in the artwork, or by the card meaning. Place these cards in the positions of A, B, C on the layout randomly or in whichever order feels most appropriate for them.
Step 2. (The Omens) Shuffle the rest of the deck, cut the cards and lay out the next 5 cards according to the spread pattern. These cards represent 5 omens the querent will encounter in their life while on the path to pursuing the goal. These will be the omens of fortune, or possibly omens of warning (or both).
If the challenges appear too dramatic in the reading to meet the deadline, it is advised that you reconsider the approach to this goal, or expand the date of the deadline further out and allow other necessary components to fall into place first.
Keep in mind that navigating a timeline reading for a specific matter is most accurate and most effective when there is an active intent or pursuit placed on achieving the goal. For more general readings (such as sample #2 below) the reading will reveal energies what will come to pass if no major life shifts were to expected to occur over a longer period of time.
